What I learned from the last days, -and I cannot stress this enough-, inform yourself about the visa-situation in the county you want to visit next.
In Poland, me and my travelmate Jan were taken to a small hotel at the Bordertown and because we weren't having a Visa for Belarus, we had to apply for it at the local department. It was Friday afternoon when I arrived and the embassy was already closed. But the Trans Siberian Railway would leave Moscow Sunday afternoon so I had to get a hold of them earlier somehow. On Saturday we were so stressed that I jumped the fence and knocked at the door as no one would open the gate or answer the telephone. A very understanding lady helped me and we managed to get our visa permitted saturday evening.
I all worked out in the end but let's just say: Visa information is the first thing I look up now when I am planning my next adventure!
