⛪The Saxon Church of St Laurence in Bradford on Avon is believed by some to have been founded by Saint Aldhelm around 700 AD. . . ⛪It is one of the most complete Anglo-Saxon churches from this period, and has a typical monastic plan of the time, although on a smaller scale. . . ⛪The Church was astonishingly 'lost' for many years and was previously used as a school (nave) and cottage (chancel). It was 'rediscovered' in 1856 by William Jones, rector of the nearby Norman church of Holy Trinity, and it was restored in 1870–80. In 1952 the Saxon church was designated as a Grade l listed building. . . ⛪ Although the church seems all or almost all Anglo-Saxon, it has been changed slightly in a number of ways, which includes removing the stairs inside and filling in the windows. It is small in size, with the nave only some 7.5 metres long and a little over 4 m wide, the height of the building (8m inside the nave). A porticus to the south has been lost, but the structure of the building is almost all in its original Anglo-Saxon state. . . ⛪The origins of the church have been long debated. It is believed the walls belong to Aldhelm's time. But more recent sources give a later date for all or most of the church. It has been suggested it was built after 1001, when King Æthelred the Unready gave the site to the nuns of Shaftesbury Abbey, refugees from the Vikings. They were the custodians of the body of King Edward the Martyr, Æthelred's half-brother and already regarded as a saint. It may have served as a mortuary chapel for him for a period, which might help explain why such a small but elaborate building was created. . . ⛪Sadly the church is currently closed because of Covid-19, so I was unable to get photos of the interior. However when it reopens I will visit again and do a new post on the interior of this beautiful Anglo-Saxon church. . . . . .#anglosaxonhistory #anglosaxon #anglosaxons #saxon #aldhelm #englishhistory #bradfordonavon #igersengland #igerwiltshire #myphoto #wessex #timeforwiltshire #excellentbritain #darkages #archaeologylovers #historicalsite #englishchurch #hiddenhistory #hiddenhistories #histotygram #vikings #saxonchurch #historynerd #historylover

• Ledsham, All Saints • Here is the south doorway of Ledsham's west tower. On this south side of the tower, a handful of the more eye-catching extant features of the pre-Conquest church can be seen. None less beautiful than this exquisite doorway. The ornamental stonework is typical of what is believed to be the original late 7th to early 8th century church, which has long since been expanded and amalgamated into the present form of the building today. However, the ornamental vine scrolling of the decorated stonework was embellished to take its present form in the 1870-71 restoration. You can see here and there hints of its origin design and it out of delightful coloured stone it is a work of art. I apologise as this is essentially a shorter version of a much longer post which failed to upload earlier this evening so rewriting it I cut it down because I have other things to do. The last 2 images are of an early Saxon round headed window in the south face of the tower and the final image is just a nice ⚓ graffito on a quoin of the north west corner of the church's nave.

I is for Invaders ⚔️ Last year we were besieged on home turf at @butser_ancient_farm by the Viking invaders @wuffa_vikings! This was a two day event put together by one of our officers in conjunction with Butser & Wuffa to provide a dramatic weekend full of fun and fighting! We set up base around the Saxon Hall whilst the vikings of Wuffa set up camp on the hill of the green Man. Crafts and displays could be found in both camps, as well as fighting demonstrations throughout, culminating in a large Saxons Vs Vikings battle at the end of the day! It was a truly wonderful event to be a part of, one that everyone enjoyed and one we had been hoping to repeat this year (grrr covid). Both groups have been working hard on kit upgrades & research over the plague ridden summer, and we are hoping that next year will be a little kinder to us and allow us to show it off bigger & better than before! We look forward to when we can raise a sword and an ale with our Vikings friends once again #saxon #anglosaxon #viking #vikings #norse #invaders #invasion #battle #battleworn #battleready #warriors #fighting #fighters #fight #shield #reenactment #reenactors #reenactmentshow #history #historical #getinvolved #medieval #medievalfighting #vikingreenacment #vikinglife #education #butserancientfarm #fun #funforkids #vikingsattack Photos by Ross Underwood, @jm_snaps1 and group members [Image description in comments]

#tbt to this 2014 photo of the Sutton Hoo helmet, on display at the British Museum, London. Sutton Hoo, in Suffolk, England, is the location of two early medieval cemeteries, one of which contained a ship burial dated to the early 7th century AD. The helmet was found during archaeological excavations of the ship burial in 1939, alongside other regalia and symbols of power associated with the Anglo-Saxons. Given the scale of this ship burial - the ship was 90 feet in length - it is generally thought that it was the burial of a king or warrior, probably of the Anglo-Saxon ruler Raedwald (reigned c. 599-624). King Raedwald is recorded by the Venerable Bede in the 8th century as having coverted to Christianity early in his reign, though he also apparently kept two altars: one pagan, one Christian. Discovered by Charles Phillips, the helmet is made from iron with silver, gold, tin, and garnets, and weighed around 2.5 kilograms. Given its level of ornamentation, it may have also served as a crown. It is heavily reconstructed (1940s and 1970s), as it was found in numerous fragments. The helmet was probably already corroded before the ship structure collapsed and crushed it many years after the burial. The excavation of Sutton Hoo, one of the most important archaeological discoveries of the 20th century, is also the topic of a 2007 historical novel by John Preston and an upcoming movie in 2021 called The Dig, starring Ralph Fiennes who plays the excavator, Basil Brown. #archaeology #suttonhoo #anglosaxon #shipburial #helmet #discovery #archeologia #museum #royalburial #excavations #britisharchaeology #ancientart #art #sculpture #metalwork #conservation #iron #gold #suffolk #archaeologist #exhibition

First page of Beowulf in Cotton Vitellius A. xv ▪️ The oldest surviving epic poem in the English language. The first manuscripts were written in “Old English”, the language of the Saxons, also known as “Anglo-Saxon.” ▪️ There’s quite the mystery surrounding the origins of this awesome story. Some believe it to be an elegy for a king who died somewhere around the seventh century but there is little evidence surrounding who that king may be and if this was even true. ▪️ With heavy debate regarding when exactly the poem was written and by who or whom, it may have been written as early as 700 C.E. and took many shapes, evolving through various retellings before it was ever actually written down. Which is why there is also debate about its themes and meaning behind those themes within the context of its pagan, folkloric, and Christian elements. Some see it as a symbolic transition from paganism to Christianity in medieval times, while others question if the original story was merely tampered with to fit the narrative needs of the Christian monks who wrote it down—which is how you get the Beowulf 2007 movie written by Neil Gaiman and Roger Avary, produced by Robert Zemeckis, which, btw, is kickass as fuck. Some critics talk shit saying it deviates from the original texts but with so much clouded mystery encompassing everything about the story, I think the artistic liberties they took are quite tasteful but I digress... ▪️ What’s the point of this post? Beowulf is badass that’s what. ‘Nuff said. ____________ Follow @makingmythology Follow @makingmythology Follow @makingmythology ____________ #beowulf #geats #denmark🇩🇰 #denmark #scandinavian #scandinavianmythology #mythology #mythsandlegends #folklore #folkloreandfairytales #tale #tales #oldenglish #anglosaxon #scandinavia #grendel #hrothgar #dragon #dragons #fantasystory #neilgaiman #geatland #nowellcodex #storytelling #storiesandsongs #storiestotell #epicpoem #legendary #historic #gamlauppsala

'William' from 'Macbeth, William and Malcolm' Oil and oil pastel on canvas 185 x 150 cm "In 1068, Edgar Ethling, Malcom king of Scotland, and numerous bands of foreign auxiliaries, marched out of Monkchester, and joined battle with king William on Gateshead Fell. The fierce Norman was victorious, and, entering the town, laid it almost level with the ground, to prevent it from becoming in future an asylum to his enemies. In his fury he almost exterminated the inhabitants of the country between this town and York; and this vast tract became, during nearly a century, the refuge of robbers and wild beasts." Today, 1370 years ago on the 3st of December 650, Saint Birinus, first Bishop of Dorchester and ‘Apostle to the West Saxons’, died. • Born around the year 600 in Francia (modern day France) Birinus was a Benedictine monk who worked in a Monastery in Rome. • In 634, Birinus was sent by Pope Honorius I to England to convert the West Saxons from Paganism to Christianity. He landed on the Southern Coast of Wessex in 635. • Birinus eventually reached the Thames Valley. Here, he converted and baptised King Cynegils of Wessex and his son (Cwichelm) with King Oswald of Northumbria acting as their godfather. Here, Oswald also married the daughter of Cynegils. • Therefore, Birinus had essentially established Christianity as an acceptable and practicable religion in Wessex - and to a greater extent - in the entirety of what would later become England. • Birinus’ cause of death is unknown. He was buried in the church he built in Dorchester. His remains were later moved to Winchester by Saint Headda in 680 and would be enshrined in silver and gold in 972 by Bishop Ethelwold. • #history #english #england #anglosaxon #medieval #medievalengland #medievalhistory #englishhistory #englandhistory #kingofengland #angles #saxons #jutes #kings #king #monarch #englishmonarch #englishking #enlandmonarch #englandking #kingofengland

The dedication stone of St Paul's, Jarrow, set above the chancel archway where it can still be seen today. Laid down after the church's completion on the 23rd of April 685, the inscription reads: 'The dedication of the Basilica of St Paul on the 9th day before the Kalends of May in the 15th year of King Ecgfrith and in the 4th year of Abbot Ceolfrith, founder, by the guidance of God, of the same church.' The church of St Paul, together with St Peter's in Wearmouth, formed the Benedictine double monastery where the Venerable Bede (672-735) spent his entire life from the age of seven. Ceolfrith ('Chay-ol-frith'), the original Abbot of Jarrow, was a mentor and father-figure to Bede, who was greatly affected by his death in 716. Ecgfrith of Northumbria (640-685 AD), who granted the land for the monastery to be built, fell in battle less than a month after seeing this stone laid. A warlike and belligerent king, he attacked his cousin, Bridei, King of the Picts, who lured him northwards beyond the Grampian mountains before destroying him with his whole army at Nechtansmere. The battle ended Northumbria's political supremacy for good and it would come to be known for its cultural and artistic achievements from then on. In the late 9th C, a swathe of Eastern and Northern England was occupied by Danes and other Norsemen, and governed by Danelaw. Christian Anglo-Saxons labelled the Norse people 'heathens'. However, many Scandinavian pagans were buried in Christian churchyards. Others converted to Christianity, and over time, the people, religious beliefs, art, and languages from the different cultures in the region became intertwined. Anglo-Norse dialects developed, and they influenced local speech for hundreds of years. Even today, the English language has numerous words of Old Norse origin, like 'knife', 'kindling', 'egg', and 'window' (literally - 'wind eye'). The Vikings also gave their names to many places and geographical features. Place names ending in 'by' take their suffix from the Old Norse for 'farmstead' or 'settlement'. In Lincolnshire, we care for churches in two such places; 'Sutterby' is believed to be Old Norse and Old Danish for 'the settlement of the shoemaker'. Twelve miles away, marshy Saltfleetby (pronounced 'Sollerby') adds Norse 'by' to 'Salt fleot' - the Anglo-Saxon name for the saltwater inlet where salt had been produced and exported since the Bronze age. In 2010, in a field at Saltfleetby, a spindle whorl was found, inscribed with a Norse runic inscription. It probably dates from the 11th C, by which time there may well have already been a Christian church in the village, yet this personal object, probably owned by a woman called Ulfljót, invokes the names of three Norse Gods, including Odin, the one-eyed all-father god whose Anglo Saxon name gave us the word 'Wednesday'. You can learn more about Viking Saltfleetby and its spindle whorl from the Centre of the Viking Age (University of Nottingham). H is for Hounds 🐾 We wouldn't be the Dogs of War without a few dogs now would we? Quite a few of our members have various pooches that often join us in camp at shows. There is a huge variety, and not all of them are pictured since we have so many! They can usually be seen lounging on blankets just inside of tents, getting copious cuddles in the group shelter, sunbathing on sheepskins and being taken for walks on rope leads with little leather collars. Not all of the breeds we have present at shows are similar to what would have been owned in the Anglo Saxon period (labradors we are looking at you!) but we feel that providing the dogs are well trained, it is beneficial for them to be with their owners, and that they add to the chaos and flavour of camp life! #dog #dogs #dogsofinstagram #doglife #doglovers #dogstagram #cute #pet #petdog #hound #herigeashundas #dogsofwar #reenactment #reenactor #reenactmentshow #cuddles #petsofinstagram #saxon #anglosaxon #norse #awwfactor #pooch #doggo #lovedogs #historicalreenactment Image description: Image 1 - Two smiley honey & white whippet cross dogs are facing the camera.

Lilla Cross, high up on Fylingdale Moor, North Yorkshire, a lovely photo taken by an old friend, Andrew Donogue recently. Some say it's the oldest Christian cross in Northern England. Lilla was a thegn of Edwin of Northumbria. Edwin's enemy, King Cwichelm of the West Saxons far to the south, had sent an assassin to murder Edwin. The eve before Easter, 626, Eumer the assassin entered the king's palace, a few miles east of Eoferwic (York) saying he was an envoy with a message for the king. Approaching Edwin, he suddenly lunged at him with a poisoned double-edged dagger. Lilla, who was nearby, threw himself between his lord and the assassin. Such was the force of the attack that the knife went straight through Lilla's body and into Edwin, who was wounded, though lightly. The other king’s men quickly killed the assassin. Sadly, Lilla didn't survive. Was he married? Did he have bairns? Likely. Life was often shorter and snatched away in the days of the Heptarchy. Yet the story of Lilla's selfless sacrifice is still remembered today in the north and his cross stands still, a silent memorial to his selfless sacrifice. #anglosaxon #northumbria #thenorth #yorkshire #york #edwin #lilla #deira #thelastkingdom #englishheritage #nationaltrust #northyorkshiremoors #nycc #fylingdales #standingstone #standingcross #history #historicengland #whitby #walker #rambler #lykewakewalk #abundare #anthonyhodgsonart

The grave of a 6th-century man – a possible warrior – has been uncovered on a hilltop near Marlow, overlooking the Thames Valley. Its location within the borderlands of prominent neighbouring Anglo-Saxon kingdoms – at different times Wessex, Kent, and Mercia – will hopefully shed new light on this often-overlooked region, which was previously viewed as an obscure backwater during this period of history. Physical analysis of the man’s remains indicated that he had been an imposing figure, probably around six feet in height and with a robust physique (as indicated by well-developed muscle attachments). His stature, in combination with his elaborate grave goods and prominent burial location, indicate that he may have been a high-status figure of some note. Further analysis of the man’s remains at the University of Reading and a full programme of scientific analysis by Drakon Heritage and Conservation will help determine more details about his life and death, and the region in which he lived. The full news article appeared in issue 369 of the magazine, and you can also read it on our website: click the link in our bio, or visit www.archaeology.co.uk/news . This is the link to my novel about Gytha and Vladimir called WILD FIELD on Amazon; tell your friends! https://amzn.to/2KTixix My historical novel Wild Field, is now available on Amazon - https://amzn.to/2KTixix This untold 11th century love story, plucked from the mosaic of English medieval history, is about a young woman’s triumph in a man’s world. Gytha is 13 years old when her father King Harold of England dies at the Battle of Hastings in 1066AD. Her adored mother Edith ‘Swan-neck’, crazed with grief is lost to her. She and her brothers go on the run from William, the Conqueror. In this lyrical tale of true love and real evil, Gytha first travels west to Exeter, where she is to marry a painted Celt Prince. She then flees to Denmark. But with no dowry, no parents and no country to call home, she is bartered to a wicked bride-trader and taken to the farthest edge of Christendom to wed Vladimir, a prince of Rus (now Ukraine); only to find he is promised to another girl. You will love Wulfwyn, Pig-Boy and the scented Swetesot, fear and admire the handsome river prince Vladimir, hate Oleg and the Cold Trader and all those with dark hearts who seek to harm Gytha in the Wild Field. ‘Behold the Wild Field, where the sky neither ends nor the earth begins, where a million flowers bloom and riders steer by heaven’s unweary stars’. #Gytha #Ēadgȳða #dynasticmarriage #swanneck #monomakh #КиевскойРуси #kievanrus #wildfield #дикоеполе #wessex #godwinson #godwineson #anglosaxon #bridetrade #1066AD #riverprince #historicalfiction

We'd like to introduce you to some of our members. First up is Jack. How did you find out about us and how was your first training? A friend introduced me but I kind of knew about Regia from Skullduggery LARP. First training was fantastic, first time using such a long spear and did a lot better than expected thanks to the military training team. What is your best memory from it so far? Probably either my first training when I managed to win the 3 man hunt squads in a 2 man team or fighting alongside Konrad, uphill, smashing through those shields while Konrad killed them and wrapped round the flank. What crafts do you enjoy and what future projects are you working on? I quite enjoy making knives (although I haven't made any for some time), embroidery and calligraphy. At the moment I'm working on dying my leg wraps and adding the bronze clasps to them. . . . #regiaanglorum #reenactment #reenactor #vikingclothes #vikingreenactment #viking #saxon #anglosaxon #saxonreenactment #historicalclothing #history #livinghistory #medievalhistory #medieval #medievalreenactment #historicalreenactment #spear #shield

Close ups of Horsa and Hengist Beautiful red ink is @herbininks look at that sparkle ✨❤️ • After Horsa’s death, Hengist continued to rule over Kent, although the fighting between him and King Vortigen didn’t stop • A lot of what we know about the Saxon invaders come from Venerable Bede, an historian from I think the 6th or 7th century. Saxons didn’t write things down so a lot of what we know is from archeological finds and scripts written by monks, sometimes there are not enough sources to know how true an event is. • One theory of how the history went down was that Hengist would invite Vortigen and his men round to dinner and gave a signal for the Saxons to pull out concealed knifes and slaughter Vortigen’s men. (I think this theory has been disproven but it’s an interesting story nonetheless) • Eventually things settles when Vortigen handed over the whole of the south of England. From the quick research I did on Vortigen (haven’t got round to proper research yet) I don’t think he’s too highly thought of. • Later Saxons that ruled over the kingdom of Kent claim decent from Hengist who ruled till AD 488 where his son took over and ruled till AD 512 • Hengist also had connections to Beowulf and essentially can be traced to the start of the Arthurian legend (the oldest version)

Answer (Part 2/2); ...we both experienced the deep roots of telling stories accompanied with music around a fireplace. We went into a trance-like-state and so we wanted to take it to the next level. And so the GRIMA story-tell tracks were recorded in the weeks after our return from the viking market. #sowulo #sowulomusic #faecele #torch #anglosaxon #rune #void #darknessisyourlight #newrelease #grima #darkfolk #darkfolkmusic #vikingmusic #vikingfolk #paganfolk #vikingstyle #nordic #nordicfolk #nordicmusic #pagan #heathen #nature #cyclical #questionsandanswers #asksowulo

Answer (Part 1/2); Just a few years ago I visited a viking market at Ribbe Viking Centre in Denmark, and there I was in the company of fellow Dutch viking-reenactor Niek van Eck(@tumulus_talk). He was about to do his amazing story telling for the visitors of that viking market and he asked me; Faber, did you bring any instruments from the dark-ages with you? And yes I had my lyre with me, so he challenged me to improvise some tunes to accompany his storytelling. Of course I accepted this invitation and from the moment we started... #sowulo #sowulomusic #faecele #torch #anglosaxon #rune #void #darknessisyourlight #newrelease #grima #darkfolk #darkfolkmusic #vikingmusic #vikingfolk #paganfolk #vikingstyle #nordic #nordicfolk #nordicmusic #pagan #heathen #nature #cyclical #questionsandanswers #asksowulo

"I ween that I hung on the windy tree, Hung there for nine nights full nine; With the spear I was wounded, and offered I was, To Othin, myself to myself, On the tree that none may know What root beneath it runs. None made me happy with a loaf or horn, And there below I looked; I took up the runes, screaming I took them, And forthwith back I fell." Answer; All the tracks on the GRIMA album have a completely different feel and intention, so it is very hard to choose. Working with a story-tell concept was of course very different than we did on our previous albums Alvenrad, Sol and Mann. The music now had a very complementary role to play and I (Faber) went really really deep into intuitive playing on the instruments I used. I tried not to interfere too much with my mind, but the instruments gave me direction. So while I was listening to the story, I improvised the music and recorded that, so what you hear is pretty raw. And that was the most amazing thing to experience. Later on I rearranged and re-composed some of the improvisations, added extra instruments and lyrics and so Spatle Aeghwas and Faecele were born. Both tracks are very dear to me. #sowulo #sowulomusic #faecele #torch #anglosaxon #rune #void #darknessisyourlight #newrelease #grima #darkfolk #darkfolkmusic #vikingmusic #vikingfolk #paganfolk #vikingstyle #nordic #nordicfolk #nordicmusic #pagan #heathen #nature #cyclical #questionsandanswers #asksowulo

Answer; In our opinion it was musically a great success to implement female vocals on our two latest tracks. Female vocals will definitely remain part of sowulo’s trademark sound. Sowulo is all about archetypical wisdom and celebrating it. Cyclical living is also a big part where male and female are a very important aspect. We are still in the searching fase, but we can already tell it will be sounding as amazing as the vocals on Spatle Aegwas and Faecele. More will be revealed in the near future! #sowulo #sowulomusic #faecele #torch #anglosaxon #rune #void #darknessisyourlight #newrelease #grima #darkfolk #darkfolkmusic #vikingmusic #vikingfolk #paganfolk #vikingstyle #nordic #nordicfolk #nordicmusic #pagan #heathen #nature #cyclical #questionsandanswers #asksowulo

My Yule Sun Wheel wreath is up! The Sun Wheel, or Sun Cross represents the four quarters of the year, and can be made any time of year but especially on the solar festival days (solctices and equinoxes). This symbol is found through out European cultures from the bronze age onwards. The arrival of Christianity saw the slow assimilation and replacement of the traditional festivals, and mid winter festival of Yule was supplanted by Christmas although many pre Christian pagan elements survive in this festival, often in what we now consider the secular side of Christmas. In this instance the foliate wreath around the pagan Sun Cross is an obvious nod to Christmas, in a merging of the two festivals. I'm quite pleased with how it's turned out! I was going to continue to decorare it with colourful secular Christmas items but I really like the austere and natural look of it. #sunwheel #suncross #celticcross #christmas #christmaswreath #folk #folktradition #folkart #pagansism #pagan #paganfestival #yule #yuletide #artsandcrafts #midwinter #winter #britishculture #england #anglosaxon #celtic #wintersolstice

Moving towards a jewellery practice has been hard, the last couple of stone fittings has lead to either the breaking of the stone or the ruining of the bezel (learning curve at least) but this is the moment that I found out I could actually do it. Malachite ring in sterling silver, I took my time and worked slowly. I'm very proud of this but theres still room for improvement. The bezel wasn't completely flush and lead to the ends being a little out of line. But let's not focus on the bad, this is a positive outcome. Also I have my own hallmark now, so that's nice (under picture)

G is for Glow 🔥 One thing that remains constant throughout human history (and prehistory) is the pull to the glowing warmth of a fire, and we are no exception! The fire is at the heart of our camp, providing the ability to cook and dry wet clothing during the day, and warmth & light at night. Once a show ends and night draws in, we can often be found sat in a ring around the fireplace in the Saxon hall, or around a firebox in the center of the camp. Two of our annual events focus hugely on fire - Beltane at @butser_ancient_farm and the boat burning at @stonham_barns 's Saxon & Viking Festival! Beltane sees many visitors gather at Butser to celebrate May Day, enjoying music, Reenactment, ale and finally the burning of the Green Man once night falls. The Saxon & Viking Festival draws large crowds to watch fighting and "Dark Age" reenactments during the day. Once dusk draws in, a torchlit procession walks from the main arena to a wooden boat nearby, culminating in a boat burning! Both of these events are an amazing experience, celebrating fire & light at both the coming of the summer, and the coming of the winter. #fire #firelight #openfire #fireside #flame #flamingtorch #torches #boatburning #greenman #wickerman #pagan #paganism #beltane #beltaine #wheeloftheyear #festival #reenactment #reenactor #saxon #anglosaxon #viking #norse #darkage #reenactmentshow #annual #celebration #experience #light #glow #glowing External photographers: Image 1: Mark Bellsham @markbellsham Image 2: CWHMedia Image 5: Dave Pyecroft [Image descriptions in comments]

@survivethejive did a great video in 2019 responding to far-left attempts in educational institutions to rid of the term Anglo-Saxon from study of.. Anglo-Saxons! I will be doing more posts to raise awareness of far-left attempts to undermine European heritage, culture, and native identity. As well, I will post some information soon on the benefits of repatriating Europeans who would like to return to Europe and how that may help Europe if they care about their European culture and heritage. Of course, if you aren’t interested in living in Europe and still care or are already living in Europe already please follow to help spread awareness on issues. #europeanrepatriation #europeanculture #britain #eu #usa #australia #anglosaxon #survivethejive #southafrica #newzealand #england #culture #nativeculture #education #politics #history #heritage
