"Serenade" - 18"X24" - 2018 - Swan - oil on linen panel.
This began as a night scene, but sort of morphed into more of just a color exercise. I used what might be called a split triad, with two yellows, yellow ochre and cadmium yellow pale, one red, alizerin crimson, and a more or less blue, pthalo turquoise, plus warm white. I wish the texture showed more in the image as texture is important to me in my work. It also seems like the camera always wants to separate colors in my paintings - more so than on the original.
