Difficult times call for stronger mindset practices 🤓
You can only be the best man you can be, when your mind is the best shape possible.
My most recent podcast episode (#168 on the 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘮𝘦𝘯! podcast) dives into these 3 specific actions you can take to improve your current state of mind.
1. Surround yourself with positive/happy people and friends.
First of all, it’s SO important for men to have other guy friends. And you want those friends to be positive influences on your life. If not, you will feel drained of your time and energy. We value most those who give us energy, not take it away. When we surround ourselves with those who love life, are grateful and work hard, we are 10x more likely to do the same!
2. Visualize where you want your future to go.
Instead of dwelling on the worry and uncertainty of what happened or what’s yet to come, create your future by mentally rehearsing it, along with feeling the emotions you want to feel regularly! Use your mind to your advantage and filter what you choose to give most attention to. You only get so many fucks to give each day. Spend your fucks (energy) wisely.
3. Schedule a task each day that not only keeps you surviving or is self-care related, but actually moves you forward!
We feel “behind” when we’re maintaining in life, instead of growing in life. We grow when we move the needle forward through creation, education, new connections, etc. Create that PowerPoint, send that email, join that group, write another page of your book. Taking the dog for a walk and relaxing in the sauna are great daily actions, but they don’t move you forward in terms of making you grow.
