We woke up to a really rainy and cold day today. I woke up, made some tea and watched YouTube for about an hour while also scrolling through Instagram. I came across @siberianhusky_skadja stories and an article on her profile from The Seattle Times which caught my attention.
I was feeling a bit depressed because of the weather outside, I wanted to go out hiking with the dogs but the rain wouldn't stop. The dogs were laying at my feet giving me the saddest eyes in the world.
This article was about the Nordic concept of outdoor life - "friluftsliv" and it talked a bit about their culture too. It's a really interesting article, I highly recommend it. Somewhere along the way there was this sentence "Det finnes ikke darlig vaer, bare darlige klaer!" which translates to "There's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing." And as I was reading it I was like "wow, I can go outside. I just have to dress accordingly."
And so, I did. I put on my @theforestwolfshop beanie, my awesome secondhand coat and my hiking boots. We hiked for 4km, the dogs were crazy happy and so was I. This hike felt even better than the usual, that article really opened up my mind. Reading that article completely changed the course of my day. I was going to stay in, depressed for not going outside and suddenly I went for a hike and my spirits were up again! So if you're feeling blue with the "bad" weather go read that article and after that, go outside 😉
