How much do you drink, 4 litres a day?! Was the surprise in someone's voice when we were talking about drinking water. Yes, I drink that much water, everyday. I always have, I was lucky enough to learn the benefits a long time ago but I get so surprised when people say they don't drink water!
When we were traveling around Australia I didn't have that luxury as we just couldn't carry enough water for all four of us in many remote places, so I had to do some serious water rationing. And it was sooooo hard. But man did I notice the difference in my skin (breakouts), my diet (I was ALWAYS hungry) and my all over well-being, I felt lightheaded and got w'angry (the equivalent to h'angry but for water).
Drinking enough water and being hydrated can have so many benefits, extra water can replace empty, sugary calories many people drink with meals, speed up your metabolism and take up space in your stomach so you feel fuller - was my Mum the only one that said "have a drink of water" when I announced I was hungry?!
It's SO GOOD for your skin and the list is never ending, drinking plenty of water can improve skin tone, prevent premature aging, faster healing, reduce puffiness, prevent acne, create tighter skin, maintain pH balance - all in pure H20.
For those that don't feel they drink enough water set yourself a goal, perfect time of the year as it's so much easier to get into the habit in the summer months. My top tip is ALWAYS carry a bottle of water with you, buy an awesome water bottle that you love and make it your best friend. If you're at home, find a place on the kitchen bench or in a throughout fare and leave a bottle of water there and take a swig every time you pass, you'll me amazed at how often you need to refill the bottle. And we all know this one but how many people actually do it - one drink of alcohol to one drink of water, do it - it makes all the difference to how you feel the next day!
