CURIOUS ABOUT OUR SPECIAL GUESTS WHO WILL JOIN US FOR COFFEE & CHIKAHAN?
Meet Kylie Javier-Ashton. Born and raised in Sydney, this Aussie-Filipina started her hospitality career working in bars. @kyliejavierashton found her passion in restaurants working at the world-renowned @tetsuyasydney, before developing her career at @bentleyrestaurantbar and @dukesbistro and @momofukuseiobo. She is also Sydney coordinator for @growassembly, a not-for-profit community organisation, built by the hospitality industry, for the hospitality industry.
Suffice to say, while the hospitality industry is in hiatus, Kylie has taken it as an opportunity to take a personal break. A recalibration of energy much needed after an intense 12 years in hospo. A reflection point to look back at the sacrifices of her Filipino migrant parents and grandparents, and seek inspiration from those resilient traits. Traits that allowed them to navigate hardships of the past to inspire a life she leads now.
Join us this Saturday (4 April) at 10am EST for chit-chat (“chikahan”) over coffee with Kylie and @sofiaklevin, where we exchange of ideas around cuisine, culture, and communities in a time of COVID-19. Real talk with real women as they navigate a life disrupted by the Corona crisis.
Zoom link to be shared soon, as we switch from Houseparty™️ app mode, to serious Zoom mode.
