IT’S WILDFLOWER SEASON!
Remember, when you pick a poppy, or any wildflower, it doesn't just kill that one flower, it prevents it from naturally shedding it's seeds to perpetuate blooming seasons. A critical chain of events is triggered for years to come once wildflowers are killed. Wildflowers support and perpetuate ecosystems for pollinators: birds, butterflies bees, organisms, and other insects. They all depend on the flowers’ seeds, nectar and pollen.
We can still enjoy the beauty of wildflowers from designated trails without trampling, sitting on, picking, or parking our vehicle on them. We can respectfully photograph wildflowers without damaging their fragile ecosystems for generations to come.
Let's work together to protect
wildflowers and their habitats so we can all continue to enjoy our precious natural heritage.
