In consultation with a client today I asked her what she does to create safety for herself.
In these uncertain times we all feel a little like the ground is shaking beneath us and what we know isn’t what we knew and how do we forge through this unknown into a new unknown world?
There is so much unknown that many of us are feeling unsafe.
After our session I got to thinking about what makes me feel safe.
And what I realized was really quite comforting... I feel safe:
With my family all together.
Waking up next to hubby.
Having Fred always at my heels.
On my mat.
In my books.
Making this little list for myself is comforting, it means that when I feel overwhelmed or anxious or uncertain I can turn to these resources and come back to myself, to the present.

In uncertain times it’s essential that you know, at the very least, what comforts you and makes you feel safe.
