Today is our last day staying at “Hostal Jardin Escondido” which has been our temporary home for 3 months during the time of quarantine in Ecuador.
We were initially on our way to the coast, all packed up, when we were told that the country was in lockdown, and that we could no longer leave Vilcabamba.
Little did we know back then how fortunate we were to get stuck exactly here, in this town of colors, fresh produce and longevity.
The people at Jardin Escondido, have become family to us, and we have shared good conversations, food, hikes, dancing, laughter, frustration and worries.
We will miss our little brought-together-family dearly: Joel, the goodhearted yet rebellios Grandfather, Carmen, the talkative and caring Mother, and Fabian, the sweet and fun Brother.
Jardin Escondido, meaning “hidden garden”, is a beautiful and homey hostel in the center of magical Vilcabamba. Thank you Carmen for opening up your arms and heart for us and making us feel home, during this crazy time.
Full of love and gratitude, we are on to new adventures... #hostaljardinescondido #vilcabambaecuador #vilcabamba #quarantine #quarentinefamily #quarantinelife #coronatime #grateful #homeawayfromhome #barbecue #landoflongevity #lockdownstories #lockdown #ecuador #lockdownfamily
