✨ How to turn your Instagram followers into art buyers 👇
Chances are you’re already using Instagram as a marketing tool (and not just for fun) and social media marketing can lead to sales. Andddd if you’re in business (ie you’re an artist that’s making money from being an artist) then sales = good 😁
Posting your art work alone won’t cut it I'm afraid 🙅♀️ No matter what your audience size is right now, these two core factors will help you to make more sales through your Instagram.
1️⃣ Keep showing up and providing value to your audience
Remind your audience that you still exist and that you are worth paying attention to by showing up and being present in your content. By showing up I mean: posting consistently, showing up in your stories AND actually speaking directly to your audience. Because people buy from people and they want to see the artist behind the work, not just the art work alone.
2️⃣ Build genuine relationships
A common objective artists have when using Instagram is focussing on the numbers - the number of likes on a post, the number of followers. And while I encourage tracking your progress, these metrics alone do not lead to people buying your work 🙅♀️ People buy from people that they like and trust, it’s not just just about the numbers of the people that are in your audience… it’s about the QUALITY of people in your audience (and by quality, I mean how engaged they are - I’m not ranking people here 🤦).
You do this by having genuine conversations with people - in comments and in the DMs. Instead of only messaging people who you think are likely to buy from you, treat each one of your followers equally. It’s super important to build genuine relationships on here, *especially* those people that you have sold to before, (don’t neglect your past clients!!) But that's why it's called social media - gotta be social for it to work for you!
