Here’s a little challenge we’ll call #parkourienteering. It’s a low stakes #flaneuring game, great if you’re lacking motivation!
Here’s how it goes:
- go for a walk or a run around your neighbourhood, and when the mood strikes you, stop.
-From that point go north for 100m, turn and head east for 250m, turn to go north east for 500m and then south for 100m (if you don’t have a compass or a way to estimate distance, you can make up your own directions, like “go forward for 3 blocks then turn left... Just be sure to write Them down before you start.)
- Stop. Look around. What do you see?
- Have a play with whatever you find there: gutter, park bench, lamppost, cracks in the footpath, whatever! There’s no wrong way to do it, and there’s no pressure to make it big, or complicated or spectacular.
Creativity often comes from restrictions, and games like this can help unlock things you’d never think of! So have a go, make a little vid like this and tag it with #melbinmotion and #parkourienteering
