Kiba crossed the rainbow bridge a year ago today. Kiba means "wolf" in Japanese, and even though he tried to live up to his name, he was a big cuddle bug that always wanted pets and treats.
Melanie chose Kiba because he was the only one awake, jumping around on his siblings. He joined the family where Maya had already been present for years. She was the boss, and she made sure he knew that every chance she got. But at the end of the day, they always enjoyed cuddling up next to eachother.
I had a big sister/little brother relationship with Kiba. We had our "arguments" but we both had love for eachother. Always doing his "begging for food" dance, cuddling up in our laps, demanding bed time, annoying Maya, loving Maya, experiencing a little toddler, loving my sister, and especially loving my parents. He was the son they never had, only he was covered in curly white hair.
It was hard to say goodbye to Kiba. We miss him but we're glad he's not in pain anymore. I know he's up there with Maya and my grandpas, and we will see eachother again some day.
Love you Kiba 💙
