Have you and your kids played with baking soda and vinegar yet? 🌋
When mixed, baking soda and vinegar react to make water, carbon dioxide (CO2) gas, and sodium acetate (soluble in water). In this video I mixed a small amount of baking soda from the lid on my container into a small amount of vinegar. I used a small container for salad dressing- the top pops off like a film canister.
The reaction occurs very quickly and the CO2 gas creates enough pressure to pop the lid off. It definitely creates the dramatic excitement and mess that every little one needs.
