*sound on!* As the song says, Cookie’s got troubles. But more than that, Cookie’s got friends! We don’t know a dog with more friends, fans, advocates, and admirers than our Cookie Monster! She’s had a hard time finding “the one” but she won’t stop looking, and neither will we.
As many of you know, Cookie just spent 2 and a half months in foster and will be heading back to the shelter tomorrow. We are grateful for any time our long stay dogs can get a reprieve from the stresses of the shelter, especially dogs like Cookie (who has been with us since last May) that need it most.
So let’s talk about what Cookie needs! She needs people - Cookie is an incredibly affectionate, people focused dog. She loves everyone she meets equally and with abandon. These feelings don’t extend to other dogs, so she will need a home where she can be the only and preferably in an area where she can get space from other dogs. Cookie is estimated to be 3 years old, and young dogs especially need exercise and enrichment. Lastly Cookie hasn’t had the benefit of training and would be best served in an experienced home who will spend time training her.
Cookie is house and crate trained. She knows basic cues, loves to fetch, LOVES toys, and walks well on leash. She is available to a level 3 adopter or an *experienced* foster. If you are interested in Cookie apply via the link in our bio. If you are interested in her but feel you need the additional support and resources of a rescue, reach out to one or complete the pre-screener linked in our bio. Cookie’s ID is #94155.
