It’s hard to believe that the last time I left Canada was one year ago today to visit New Orleans on an annual siblings trip. NOLA did not disappoint. As the late Anthony Bordain once said: “There is no place on Earth even remotely like New Orleans. Don’t even try to compare it to anywhere else”. I couldn’t agree more. There’s just something about it. If you haven’t read my blog on things to do in NOLA, swipe up in my stories or check my link in bio.
Tomorrow is Dominican Republic's Independence Day so in celebration of this, I wanted to re-share a blog I wrote about my birth country. Montaña Redonda (pictured here) is a popular tourist spot that has panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and beaches. The peak includes over-the-edge swings that overlook the valley below as well as broom props to have fun with. In this photo, I had a little fun channeling Harry Potter playing Quidditch. #NailedIt Check out my blog post (originally published less than a year ago) for reasons why you should consider visiting the DR when it’s safe to do so again. Treating myself to this sample pack from @karbonbrewing today. Not only is the beer great (I especially enjoyed the JEDI IPA), but they are all about sustainability. Each can has a zipper that allows you to separate the plastic from the can. They also use biodegradable beer clips and recycled paper. Their hope is to become Canada’s first carbon negative brewery. {Check out my reels and stories for the not-so-flattering behind the scenes of getting this shot!} #local #beer #sustainability #thirstday
I was going to call this my ‘Sunday look’ but who am I kidding? Living in RW&CO Loungewear collection until further notice. {Gifted} by @rw_co 📸: @jessbaumung
Wine Delivery Driver: “Think this might be wine. Be careful, it’s fragile. Looks like your household is in for some fun tonight!” My household tonight (knowing I’m the only one that drinks wine): 🍷🎉🍷🥳🍷 —— These days, the closest I get to being adventurous is ordering takeout or trying different local wines and living vicariously through my tastebuds. —— In January, I had plans to visit the Windsor- Essex region along with some of the 14 wineries that make up @epicwineries, but I wasn’t able to due to the current restrictions. So until then, I’ll indulge in some of these local wines from that region! 📸: @jessbaumung [Gifted] @twepi #WineOrderWednesday #winewednesday #epicwineries #epicwine #yqg #epicgifts #shopYQG
One would almost think I was somewhere far up North but these icy rocks (that straight up look like Elsa was having a moment) are only minutes away from my front door along the beach in #Toronto.
What’s better than a hot tub? A cedar hot tub that blends in with the surroundings. I know travel is on hold at the moment but I’m hopeful that this will change in the coming months. In the meantime, it doesn’t hurt to start planning! Check out my latest blog post for my top 8 unique stays which includes this gem from Quebec! Link in bio or swipe up in my stories!
I know we’re still in lockdown but with better days on the horizon there’s an end in sight which means it’s time to get those travel plans in motion! This Thursday I’ll be launching my top 8 unique stays. Of course this airstream in Joshua Tree (with a stock tank pool to cool off in) made the list. More on the blog this Thursday!
